How We Become Involved
Generally Speaking, at the time of a Plea/Conviction in Circuit Court, a Probation Officer is assigned to complete an Investigation for the Court. That Investigation involves numerous types of contacts and information which assist the Court in determining an appropriate sentence. Depending upon the decision made by the Court, this office is responsible to enforce Conditions of Probation. If sent to Prison, this office also maintains post-prison or parole supervision in the community.
