The Sheriff's Office reads the foreclosure sales as a service on the 1st and 3rd Thursdays of each month promptly at 9:00 a.m. in the Allegan County Courthouse, 113 Chestnut St. in Allegan.

Foreclosure Sales can be cancelled up to 9:00am. A list of those going to sale can be found below. This list will be posted prior to 5:00pm on the Wednesday before the sale day.

You can find postings of all property to be placed for sale in the Allegan County News and Gazette. To bid on a property, you must attend the sale and be prepared to bid at least $1 over the amount that is read. If you are the successful bidder, the total amount of the sale must be collected within a reasonable time (consists of drive time to and from the banking institution and time allowed to obtain the cashier's check(s) from the banking institution) after the sale for the full amount, in the form of a cashier's check. An additional $1 must also be paid to the County Clerk.

Any questions regarding the redemption period, ownership, or the property should be directed to either the mortgage company or the attorney for the mortgage company, not to the Sheriff's Office.

NOTICE TO ATTORNEYS AND MORTGAGE LENDERS: Mortgage foreclosure notices and adjournments are due in our office by 12:00 noon on Wednesday. Foreclosure sales are held on the first and third Thursdays of each month at 9:00 a.m. at the County building. Adjournments are posted each Thursday at the County building. For a rare emergency case only, a foreclosure notice or adjournment will be accepted after 12:00 p.m. up until 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
