Transportation Services
GROWING AND EXPANDING SERVICES
As part of the Allegan County Strategic Plan, the Allegan County Board of Commissioners approved new local funds to expand transportation services. Since January 1, 2022, service is available 5:30am to 7:00pm Monday- Friday and 8:00am to 3:00pm on Saturdays. Service is available curb to curb throughout all of Allegan County.
Allegan County Transportation (ACT) has been serving Allegan County since 2000. The mission of ACT is to enhance and promote economic development and serve the transportation needs of Allegan County by providing safe, reliable, barrier-free travel.
Allegan County Transportation is a reservation bus service that will provide transportation to/from your home or place of work. ACT connects people to transportation for employment, medical care and quality of life.
Anyone is welcome to ride with us.
Senior and Disability Volunteer Driver Program
When ride requests are received through Senior Transportation, every effort will be made to schedule the ride within 3 business days with either an available volunteer driver or an accessible public transit vehicle (through ACT bus).
Eligible customers for this service must be 60 years or older, or a person with a disability, and reside in Allegan County.
When ride requests are added to the schedule, passengers will receive a phone call from our office two business days prior to the trip date. The call will provide information pertaining to their request such as whether they are scheduled with a volunteer or public transit.
Transportation is available to medical, legal and nutritional appointments, as well as grocery shopping and errands.
For trip requests that do not fall under the Senior Transportation program, trips must be scheduled by noon the day before the ride is needed; passengers are then asked to call the ACT office to confirm pick-up and drop-off times.
