Background

Implementing public health policy as established by federal, state, and local guidelines, is a primary function of the Administrative Services Division under the guidance of the Allegan County Board of Commissioners. The Health Officer and Health Administration team provide leadership and guide the vision and implementation strategies for the department.

In addition, this division serves in a supportive capacity by providing many centralized functions for the entire Health Department. Responsibilities include preparation and revision of all budgets; financial controls and management; third party billing; receipting and depositing of all moneys; various record keeping and reporting systems; data processing developments and support; planning and evaluation; personnel, payments, and contract management; purchasing; and inventory.
