The Allegan County Clerk's Office has three major functions: to manage County elections; to manage vital County records; and to process and maintain all Circuit Court files. The Clerk is also the Clerk of the Board of Commissioners and statutorily serves on numerous County boards and commissions.

Vital Records

The Clerk files, stores, and retains original vital records (i.e., birth, death, and marriage records), and makes certified copies of these records available to the public. The Clerk also processes applications for concealed weapons licenses, notary publics, DBAs (Business Registration Certificate for Person Conducting Business Under Assumed Name or Partnership - or Doing Business As) and military discharge records.

Elections

The County Clerk's Elections Division oversees all elections conducted in Allegan County including all school elections and monitors campaign finance law.

Circuit Court Records

The Circuit Court Records Division, under the supervision of the County Clerk/Register Bob Genetski, receives, processes and preserves Criminal, Civil, Domestic and Family Division case records for the 48th Circuit Court.
