Rob Sarro, AdministratorRobert J. Sarro

Robert J. Sarro serves as the Allegan County Administrator; focusing on setting organizational vision and leadership development.  Rob joined the organization in 1997 as a PC Technician and quickly began moving up the leadership ladder.  He was an integral part of establishing Records Management in 1998 and served as Director of the Department.  Since that time, he has served as Network Administrator and Director of Information Services.

These previous technology positions have enabled his understanding of County workflow and processes.  These experiences, combined with growing knowledge of organizational development, have been extremely valuable in leading change as County Administrator since 2005.  Rob holds a belief that County government can operate efficiently as a unified organization and still preserve the appropriate representative and legislative checks and balances.

Rob also serves on various Boards and Commissions such as the 911 Operational Policy and Procedure Committee, as well as the Lakeshore Advantage Board of Directors and the West Michigan Regional Planning Commission.   He has served in a leadership role on local and state boards and organizations, such as President of the Martin Schools Board of Education, President of the Michigan Association of Government Computer Users, and President of the Michigan Association of County Administrative Officials.
