Veterans Day at the Fair

The Allegan County Fair is held each September.  Veteran’s Day is THURSDAY of fair week, and entrance is free to all veterans by showing proof of service or wearing veteran attire. 

Allegan County Veteran Stand Down

Veteran Service in partnership with the Veterans Administration proudly sponsors a Veteran Stand Down in October of each year. This event features community resources, free lunch, and Army surplus for veterans. Proof of Service (DD214 or VA Health Card) is needed to attend this event. Free Medicare Open Enrollment Assistance for Senior Veterans

Assistance is offered through the Michigan Medicare Medicaid Assistance Program at the Area Agency on Aging of Western Michigan.  Medicare assistance counseling for older adults who:

• Are new to Medicare
• Who wish to review plans to reduce health care costs
