Food Service
The food service program is a comprehensive licensing and inspection program governing fixed food service establishments, vending, transitory food units, and temporary food service establishments. Services involve plan review, consultation, training, inspection(s), complaint(s), and food borne disease investigations. Licensed establishments generally include locations where food is served for consumption on the premises. Establishments are governed by the State statutes and licensed through the Michigan Department of Agriculture. Licenses are issued by the State based upon recommendation from the local health department.
Licensing and Inspection
The Allegan County Health Department is involved in a number of licensing programs where licenses are issued by the State based upon inspections and recommendations from the County Health Department. The programs are campgrounds, public swimming pools, DHS Adult and Child Care and Day Care facilities, septic tank pumpers, and septage disposal sites.
Subdivision and Site Condominiums
The subdivision and site condominium program involves approval of parcels for onsite sewage disposal and water supplies before the development is recorded. Criteria for the approval are based upon rules established under State statute.
